Fresh Looks For Spring

Students showcase spring fashion that stand out in sunshine and showers.
Fresh Looks For Spring

At last, winter is over and those heavy coats can finally be packed up. The weather is now reaching the 60s, sometimes even 80s, but despite these warmer temperatures, don’t forget about the old saying: April showers bring May flowers, which symbolizes growth and the beauty of nature.

Spring’s diverse weather offers endless possibilities when it comes to fashion choices. Whether your style is grunge, urban, or casual, these students featured in this article might just inspire you to come up with more creative outfits for the season. So, it’s time to dive into your closet, bring out appropriate spring attire, and celebrate the season’s fresh blossoming feel.

Tenay
Senior Tenay Brown is giving us a sense of middle school nostalgia with her pinafore dress, sandals, and a white polo t-shirt. The straps on her dress remind you of those long overalls usually worn in the winter, covering up the legs to stay warm, but as temperatures rise, it’s okay to start bringing out the shorts and skirts. You can wear an outfit similar to Tenay when spring’s showers aren’t around to ruin this comfy fit.

Brown’s second outfit highlights an all-white theme, featuring a white flowery dress complemented by white sandals, a white cropped jean jacket, and a matching white bow clip. You can wear an outfit like this on warmer spring days.

Rafael
Senior Rafael Avelino Castillo embodies the “soft boy” aesthetic with his tan cotton vest complemented by brown corduroy pants, a simple white short-sleeved shirt, and Nike shoes to match. Castillo also created this outfit with a soft brown faux leather jacket, which he can decide to take off due to spring’s blooming weather.

Avelino Castillo isn’t solely about comfort; he also has another outfit equally stylish with his tan hoodie with a star in the middle, light blue jeans, white Enduro Heir shoes, and let’s not forget about the accessories with his necklaces ranging from local artists to sites like Hard Jewelry.

David
Junior David Paolillo keeps warm in a stylish thrifted pink “Palm Beach” zip-up, covered over a classic polo t-shirt. His distressed True Religion jeans paired with black Nike Air Forces give off an urban feel, bringing a little “edge” with the rips in his jeans.  Paolillo’s outfit is perfect for those feeling bold while still keeping in mind the crazy winds spring could bring.

Brandon
Brandon Chavez is also going into Spring with an urban look. His jeans (designed by his sister Penelope Chavez), a navy blue polo Abercrombie short-sleeved collared t-shirt, and white Adidas are just one of his outfits he created this spring. As for the second outfit, Chavez knows that Spring doesn’t always bless us with nice warm weather, so with his army green zip-up jacket, a clean white t-shirt, and his signature white Adidas, he has a comfy yet stylish outfit to wear when it’s chilly outside.

Irvin
Irvin Chavous is known for having unique outfits, so of course, he created two outfits for spring with his own little twist. The first outfit features a spiky black book bag with a light brown hoodie underneath, True Religion boot cut jeans with a chain from Depop on the side, bulky black boots from Demonia Cult, and a necklace also from Depop.
For his second outfit, Chavous hits us with an edgy look with his thrifted black leather jacket lying under a black scarf, a white shirt from Chrome x Bape, minimalist black jeans also paired with a chain in the pocket, and white high-top Rick Owens. Chavous’s outfit may inspire some to switch up their style for an eye-catching look showcasing both comfort and trendiness.

Raquel
Senior Raquel Morris, known for her confidence wearing her distinctive outfits, is serving you some western glam. Her black leather jacket and long-sleeved button-down shirt are accompanied by a white belt with a touch of sparkle to match and white BooHoo Cowboy boots. Morris’s style is a mix of bold and elegant touches that fit perfectly with the energetic feel of spring. An outfit like this is great to wear when going out for weekend adventures to a museum or a festival, or you want to make a stylish impression at a family event.

Spring invites a refreshing change in style, a perfect opportunity to experiment with your wardrobe and find new trends. Don’t be afraid of spring showers or the low temperatures. Instead, try layering your clothes using items like a vibrant raincoat and cheerful accessories. Keep in mind the suggested outfits and try something new this season; allow your closet to bloom like a snowdrop with a variety of different pieces of clothing, accessories, and palettes. Dare to step out of your comfort zone because you might just surprise yourself. Have fun!
