At the North Shore in Oahu, Hawaii, a surfer was attacked by a vicious shark. The victim, Colin Cook, was on his surfboard when he saw a fish leap from water. At that precise moment a shark attacked him from underneath where his legs were dangling form the surfboard. Before the shark released him and swam away, Cook punched it, resulting in injuring his hands severely. At the hospital the doctors there had to amputate most of his leg and gave him three hundred stitches for his hand. He is also missing the top of his middle finger. His leg has recovered and shows no sign of infection. Cook’s attack is surely not rare since there have been many shark attacks in the past week and sadly, probably even more in the future to come.
