Norristown’s Winter Pep Rally 2018 has become one of the memorable events of the year due to the great performances by the Dance and Step Team. Although the Dance Team put on an amazing performance, it was the NAHS Step Team that has kept everyone talking. They brought down the house and surprised everyone with their killer moves! Because the majority of the school didn’t even know there was a step team, it gave Norristown the chance to see something new and creative. A while back there was a step team at NAHS but unfortunately it died down. The step team was ran by Miss.Nancy Bradley, who unfortunately passed in 2012. Miss.Nancy was a paraprofessional here at NAHS and on the side ran The Elegant Steppers (another step team). Although it was her hobby to teach step, the steppers had many performances which Miss.Nancy set up. Fortunately, this year with the help of Young Scholars and Miss. Garman, some students brought step back to NAHS! This new generation of steppers started practicing in the school’s new wing. Along with the supervision of Miss. Garman, the team is run by two sophomores Matthew Mccray and Jamie King. Breaking from the hiatus, their first performance  was at the Martin Luther King Day event set up by Young Scholars and Mr.Norristown March 9th. The Step team has also been invited to perform at Princeton University early April! If you would like to support the step team you can listen to the morning announcements for their upcoming events!
