Norristown Area School District’s current superintendent, Dr. Janet Samuels, announced in May that she plans to retire as of July 31, 2018.  This will bring an end to her career at NASD which started in January of 2008 (timesherald.com).  Samuels has given over 40 years to the field of education in New Castle County, Philadelphia and Norristown Area School Districts.

In May the NASD School Board announced the approval of Mr. Christopher Dormer as the district’s new superintendent.  He has been working with the district as the Assistant Superintendent since 2017.  He would like to get to know more people within the district and community and has organized three “Meet and Greets” throughout June to that end.  These meetings are arranged in various locations within the district:

The first one will be Thursday, June 7th at 6:00Pm located at East Norriton Middle School’s library.

The second one will be Tuesday, June 12th at 6:00 pm as well , at Norristown Area High school’s  library.

The Final meet and greet will be Wednesday, June 20th at 6:00 pm, at Eisenhower Science and technology Academy library.

Come meet NASD’s newly appointed superintendent this month so he can learn from the kids, parents, and community members that make-up NASD.
