East Norriton Christmas Parade Brings in the Christmas Season
On Saturday, December 2nd, East Norriton had their 25th annual Christmas Parade. The parade is filled with fun, sponsorship and of course Santa!
The Christmas Parade was lead by Norristown Area High School Band and Orchestra, conducted by Mrs. Blume and the rest of the music department. Many others followed behind including dance companies, Einstein Hospital, schools and many other sponsorship. There were many of floats for each company and they were very vivid in colors. There were some Cadillac’s that blared Christmas music that you could hear from miles away. There were Mummers dressed up in cute, and cliche costumes, and played beautiful and upbeat music.
Many of these companies, business, colors and and schools handed out candy or candy canes to spread holiday cheer. On some of the candy canes, there were either stickers or notes that said, “Merry Christmas!” or “Have a happy holidays!”
Towards the end, Santa and Mrs. Claus rolled up in a fire truck and waved a merry Christmas to all of the onlookers enjoying the parade.
The parade is a fantastic event for little ones and families. It’s child friendly and I’m positive they will have a fun time! This parade is such a pleasure to go to every year; it truly is an awesome way to kick off the holiday season here in Norristown.
