Zookeeper Mauled To Death By Tigers

On October 7th, Anjaneya, a temporary caregiver for two white tiger cubs was viciously attacked and killed after trying to feed the cubs at Bannerghatta Biological Park, Bangalore. Bannerghatta Biological Park is a famous tourist attraction for those who live in Bangalore. They have many endangered and rescued species. The tiger cubs that killed Anjaneya were around one and a half years old. As Anjaneya went into the tiger enclosure, to feed the tigers their dinner, one tiger cub jumped from behind, pounced on him, and bit his neck before dragging Anjaneya into the safari area. A few short moments later, the other white cub heard Anjaneya’s screams, and joined in with the first cub. Santosh Kumar, the boss of Anjaneya, reportedly said that the tigers didn’t allow any of the caregivers to retrieve Anjaneya’s body, which triggered a delay in rushing him to a nearby hospital. The deeps wound caused Anjaneya to die shortly after.

Anjaneya was a forty two year old married man with two children. He had no experience in handlings animals, but took the job in order to provide food and other necessities for his family in order to survive. Unfortunately, he only started his job last week. His family is devastated right now and is still trying to comprehend what had happened. They believe that the zoo was careless for allowing an incident like this to happen. To make it worse, this isn’t the first upsetting event that included the tigers at the zoo. Putting that aside, overall, it was a tragic event that will hopefully be prevented from happening in the future.
