Book Drive

Book+Drive

On April 18th, 19th, and 20th the NAHS National Honor Society and staff of The Wingspan concluded a book drive for the profit of the K-8 students within the district. Over 1,500 books were donated to support the book drive. These books were then counted and separated by level for each school by NAHS students. At Whitehall NAHS students set the books up in the main lobby so when the students walked in the school they were already excited and curious about the new books. Next, we visited Hancock Elementary where students would get their lunch then grab a book to read later. Finally, we set up some books in the Stewart Middle School Library where middle school students chose from a selection of higher level and chapter books. A few days later a package arrived for Wingspan. In the package there were about a hundred “Thank You” letters from some very satisfied students and teachers. Overall the students, teachers and families were happy about the book drive and want it to continue forever!
