This show was so good! I have watched other shows on MTV and have enjoyed them, and the Shannara Chronicles was no exception. I started watching this show not expecting to like it that much, but by the end of Season 1 I was hooked and am now so excited for Season 2. I thought all the characters were interesting, especially considering some of them were elves, rovers, and humans. I loved how they all interacted with each other and the intricate relationships that they had with one another. Although there was a love triangle in the show, and I am normally not a fan of them, this one was different than the ones I typically see. Usually it is between two boys and a girl, but the genders were swapped this time and I found it very refreshing. I admit I can’t really choose who I want the main character to be with, and would be fine with whoever he chooses in the end.

There were many things about the show that impressed me, from the amazing costumes to the sets and acting. Whenever there were scenes of the characters outside of the palace and the characters were riding horseback in New Zealand, I found myself wanting to get a plane ticket to that beautiful country. I’m not going to go much into the plot of the story, for I went in knowing nothing about it and enjoyed it that way. All I will say is that if you are a fan of Lord of the Rings you will most likely enjoy this show very much, especially if you are into fantasy as much as I am. Every episode ended with a cliffhanger and always had you vying for the next episode–it was so thrilling! The first season is over now, but you can still watch all the episodes either through On Demand or online, so check it out!
