Scream Queens Finale Review

Beware this will contain spoilers!

So far the first season was very entertaining and had a lot of laugh out loud moments with some pretty gory death scenes. Since episode one I have had my theories as to who the Red Devil is and it turns out my theories were correct. I must admit I was very proud of myself for being right, though all in all it was also pretty obvious from the start. So of course I figured out that Hester was the Red Devil because she knew how to stash away bodies and get away with killing people. That neck brace was also pretty suspicious.

I honestly found this big reveal to be disappointing, but I was not as angry compared to Pretty Little Liar’s reveal. Though I did think her backstory was pretty interesting, I still felt no sympathy for her despite her not actually killing anyone. I really liked how the director made the audience think it was Chanel #5 for a few moments before leaving everyone with a cliffhanger. Then the next part of the episode began with Hester’s background, I have to give props to the writers.

I found it funny that Chad and Denise ended up together in the time jump into the future and that all the Chanels ended up in an asylum after pleading guilty in court, and liked it there. Writer, Ryan Murphy, had everyone fooled in interviews after “revealing” that there would only be three survivors. Unfortunately, none of the characters that I thought were annoying died. Although, Murphy stated that there would be a new antagonist in the next season, considering the Red Devil was standing over Chanel poised to kill her, that may be false. Either way, I have no idea where this show is going, but I am interested to see the direction it is going in.

Also, Dean Munsch and Wes? Who saw that coming?! I also didn’t see Pete dying, poor guy. All in all, I found this season to be good and I really love the cast and how different each character is from one another. I hope that Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande miraculously come back in the next season because they were my favorite and I think they are a great addition to the cast.

Overall, I would give the season finale 6.5 out of 10 stars!
