Holiday Tragedy

Holidays bring much fun and exciting experiences, but may also attract tragedies. These times are meant to be spent with family and friends and bring positive vibes, and since some people may not have relatives to spend this time with, they may encounter some struggles. Therefore, unfortunately during this time, suicide and domestic violence increase.

On Friday November 27th, thirty-four year old Neidy Ramirez and her three month old baby Genesis went missing. She and her daughter had spent Thanksgiving with her family and had last been seen at a near by laundromat that Friday. One of Ramirez’s coworkers found her abandoned car on Northbound Route 55, on Saturday. When Ramirez didn’t show up for work, she informed her family and they went to see the car and immediately called police. On the night of December 1st both Ramirez’s and her daughter’s bodies were found at a boat ramp at 666 Back Neck Road in Fairfield Township, Cumberland County. That night, thirty-four year old Ricardo Santiago, Neidy’s ex-boyfriend and father of her 5-year old, was charged with murder. According to the Vineland Nj police, he is being held on $1 million cash bail. The motive for this still remains under investigation, but police say that they were co-parents and there seemed to be some kind of dispute. Ramirez’s two other children are now with family members. As the investigation continues, Vineland police ask anyone with information to notify them.
