On November 6th, the Norristown Area High School (NAHS) Interact Club traveled to New York for the United Nations (UN) Visitor Center meeting. Many people attended, along with transfer students from Thailand, France, India, Argentina, Canada, and more to meet new friends and tell stories of their club activities and what they do to help in their community.

Students were able to hear from and ask questions of the panels including Archie Panjabi, the Polio Ambassador, along with Zineb Touzani, Jason Gonzalez, Danae Beka, and K.R. Ravindran, the Rotary President 2015-2016.  After the panels, the NAHS group went to the other sessions where students heard stories of survivors who made their way to freedom in the United States or other countries.  All the stories were linked together by a common thread of battling adversity and inhumane circumstances with inherent grit and courage.

At the conclusion of the day, all participants sang “Let There Be Peace on Earth”in a show of solidarity,Interact_RGB leaving everyone with an eagerness to go out and share the experience and make strides towards peace among people and nations.
