The varsity field hockey team played Upper Moreland on the turf at 4:30 last Friday, October 16. Upper Moreland gained points early on, but the Eagles kept motivated and on their toes while struggling to catch up. The Lady Eagles showed their passion and left it all on the field (as they say). With only 10 minutes left and down by 4 points, Norristown Senior #23 Ashley Nagle said, “ We’re hanging in there and keeping our heads up.”
Towards the end of the game the players gave everything they had, coming extremely close to gaining last minute points, but Upper Moreland fought back just as hard. The players and fans on the side lines cheered the girls on even as they were defeated 0 to 4. Regardless of their loss, the Norristown Field Hockey girls left in good spirits and remained excited to celebrate their seniors on senior night. With posters, gifts, and tons of support, it became obvious that the Norristown Field Hockey team is a close family with a insaliable work ehtic at its core.
