Bowling Team
February 19, 2015
The bowling team had a nice season. Although the participation wasn’t as bountiful as past years, the dedication did not falter. Headlined by girl’s Co-captains Krystine O’Connor and Chrissy Rose, and boy’s Co-captains Aaryn Hoy and Jay Magers, the bowling team put up a great effort this year. Multiple “personal bests” were eclipsed, as Freshman Douglas Mitchell bowled 152 game and a 436 series, Freshman Greg Sontag bowled a 214 game and a 477 series, Sophomore Mike Berkowitz bowled a 233 game and 609 series (earned a medal), Senior Jessenia Soto bowled a 167 game and 416 series, and Junior Malika Dorsey bowled a 132 game and 342 series. Along with these achievements, bowlers were granted “beat the coach” opportunities, and were won by Dylan Copestick and Chrissy Rose. To end the season, the male teachers beat the students, and the girl’s team beat the women teachers in the Norristown faculty vs. bowling team game. Individual highlights included Chrissy Rose and Dylan Copestick qualified for the Eastern Regional Tournament based on their high averages. Individually, in the Suburban One individual tournament, Mike Berkowitz finished first in the handicap division, and Chrissy Rose finished second in the scratch division. Congratulations to the entire bowling team!
