Elmwood Park Zoo Hosts NAHS Special Needs Prom

K.Colloton, Adviser

It’s cool to go to prom.  It’s cooler to go with friends.  It’s even cooler to get out of school to attend.  It’s still even cooler to have your prom at a zoo!

By these standards, the NAHS Life Skills classes had the coolest prom of them all.  These students dressed in their finery on May 19th to attend the prom at Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown.

Prior to entering the venue, students went to feed the giraffes and view some of the animals.  Students enjoyed lunch together and the company of their classmates, teachers, administrators, and some family members.

Those who are graduating this year received some special attention and all students were invited to dance.

As Mrs. Berkery-Rocosky says, they’re the “coolest kids in the school” so it is suitable that they have the coolest prom.
