The Warriors are out to Break Records in the NBA Playoffs this Year
April 28, 2016
This year’s National Basketball Association (NBA) playoffs could potentially be one of the most historical NBA playoffs in American basketball history. Currently, the best team in the NBA is probably the Golden State Warriors. The Golden State Warriors are having a historical season this year.
They just broke the record of most wins in a single season, a record most thought would never be broken. Previously, the record was set by the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls after the legend Michael Jordan returned from playing baseball. The Bull’s that year had a record of 72-10. To commemorate that same team, Jordan 11s 72-10s were released for a limited time this past holiday season. Now the Golden State Warriors ended up breaking that record within the same year. They ended up going 73-9 on the season. Also, so far, they broke a record for the most 3-pointers in a game with 21 total being scored.
It is not too difficult to break these records when you have two of the best 3-point shooters in the game right now, nicknamed the “Splash Brothers”: Stephen Curry and Clay Thompson. Stephen Curry is known to have the best jumper in the history of the NBA.
Golden State Warriors may be breaking many more records this season despite Stephen Curry’s recent injury that may leave him benched for the season. Within their own conference Oklahoma City and the San Antonio Spurs will definitely present a challenge now that the Warriors are one strong player down. If they make it to the finals, it will be the Cleveland Cavaliers who will offer the strongest competition for the Warriors. With the loss of Curry it is truly anybody’s game as they say and the Warriors have a chance at becoming the winningest team in a single season.
