It’s prom season and girls are looking for the perfect prom dress this year! Last year the Wingspan posted about the prom trends for 2015; now we are back at it again for 2016. This year I’ve seen numerous prom trends, some repetitive and some new. Of course some girls will love the fairy tale fluffy, bedazzled prom dress but as years go on it seems girls have gravitated toward the sexier and more elegant dresses.

Simplicity is key. The dresses this year, believe or not, that I’ve seen are very simple compared to what many moms wore to prom back in the 80’s. Ladies are leaning more towards a simple dress and extravagant hair and make up or vice versa. Cut outs were also big this year such as on the thigh, mid area, and back. Lastly, the final trend noticed this year were trains. Long trains on prom dresses have been a big trend this year although they’re so heavy and difficult to walk with, but so pretty and worth it!
