Beyoncé Stirs It Up During The Super Bowl Halftime Show!
March 1, 2016
On February 7, Beyoncé performed a single called “Formation” during this year’s Super Bowl Half Time, which has made the show different from previous years. Dressed resembling the “Black Panthers”, she wanted to get a message across. The song which is being called a “Black Power Anthem” has sparked many controversial arguments. Many are trying to boycott her music, suggesting the meaning behind the song is violence, anti-police and anti-whites. Others also believe the song was supposedly released on February 5 due to Trayvon Martin’s and Sandra Bland’s birthday. The two are popular figures in the Black Lives Matter Movement. According to The Huffington Post, Jay Z recently donated 1.5 million to organizations that support the movement. He has also gave money to “families of police brutality, including Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Oscar Grant’s foundations”. Following the Super Bowl, Beyoncé has announced she’s having a “Formation” tour. Due to many officers being offended to her latest song some might refuse to staff her world tour. If this happens The Nation of Islam, an Islamic religious movement, stepped in and said they would protect her and the tour will continue.
