Hard Work or Smarts?
November 12, 2015
When people see a successful person on television, magazine, newspaper, online etc, many wonder how they got to where they are now. Either that person is really hardworking or smart. Greg Sontag, sophomore, could be known as a highly intelligent student who knows his subjects fairly well. Greg exceeds in all of his subjects, mainly math and any sort of science subject, but still averages an A or B in classes such as Spanish and English. Greg finds his two AP classes psychology and environmental science a bit complicated but enjoyable. He finds chemistry easy as well as pre-calculus. When as bright and smart as Greg, college is one of many top priorities in life, especially at times when there are only have 2 more years of High School left.
As of now, Greg’s planning to attend Montco first, then head on to Penn state, but he remains unsure of this decision. As a child Greg struggled in grade school, but by the 6th grade he grew to his fullest potential. Greg is currently slipping in a class or two, but it should improve itself in no time. As it can inferred, Greg has a bright future ahead of him. On the other perspective of coming to being successful, there is a hardworking mother, Judith Joseph, a mother of 3, currently working 2 jobs, one is 80 hours per week and the second, 16 hours per week. Judith attended Seminole Community College where she spent almost 10 hours on her studies daily, and when a subject got complicated she would spend more of her time on that specific one. She always focused on her school work and never let it slide. When being a hard worker like Judith, sometimes one feels overwhelmed with all that work and feels the need to procrastinate. Being human, she was no exception, procrastinating when the task was less important. Judith worked with all her might to reach where she is now. From this article some will gather that smarts get you to success, while others may think hard working. Either way, to reach success it’s beneficial to be both hardworking and smart.
