Preseason and Regular Season Connection
October 29, 2015
Do basketball teams have a better season if they do well during preseason? The answer is no, that’s just superstition. The preseason does not determine how well the team will do once the actual season begins. The preseason is like a warm up for sport teams, where teams can test out bench players as well as newly drafted players from the summer. In preseason games the star players don’t always play in order to prevent injuries. The preseason can be used for a lot of things, but it cannot be used to determine a team’s performance in the season. Like last year the Dallas Mavericks were 0-5 in the preseason, but went 50-32 in the regular season. The Mavericks are a very good team in general, but they don’t always show outstanding work in the preseason which goes to show that a team’s preseason doesn’t foretell how good they’ll be in the end. To all those sports fans out there, don’t worry about the team’s score in the preseason because no one knows how they will perform when the season begins.
