“If you want to succeed as much as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful.” This is the philosophy that senior Nandin Patel lives by. Born July 2, 2001 in the Republic of India, Nandin is the epitome of passion and outgoingness, believing that hard work and dedication will aid in his path to prosperity.

Currently in his last year at the “high,” Nandin plans to pursue a degree in physics at Westchester and minor in directing. As a high school senior, he can proudly say that he is not only successful in academics but in clubs as well. He is active in the Class of 2019, UNIDAD, Blue & White Society, and Upward Bound, and a college guidance program that helps with SAT prep and college visits.

His primary motivation for partaking in the talent show is that there has never been an Indian Mr. Norristown. He spoke of this with the vision that if he wins, he could inspire potential competitors in the years to come. “I would think that it would motivate other people from different ethnic backgrounds to participate in Mr. Norristown,” he said.

Furthermore, Nandin is an avid film enthusiast, having taken Video Production in his sophomore year and continuing to go back to the class in his study hall now as a senior. He names directing as one of his talents and believes this skill could help him win the show.

“My parents are the most hardworking people I know,” he recalls when asked of his biggest inspiration. “They always motivate me to try harder and not take everything for granted. They would tell me stories about their childhood and it always motivated me to be someone better and help out everyone.”

Advice Nandin would give to underclassmen would be, “Do it because what do you have to lose?”
