Zaki Coleman

Joining Mr. Norristown is something Zaki Coleman’s teachers urged him to do. He believes that being himself is what separates him from the other competitors.

Coleman proclaims that he was an “athlete and a scholar student,” believing such qualities make him special in the competition.

His family is his main motivation, but he is also driven by his goal to one day be a film director. Aspirations of wealth and a life without financial struggle are what make him passionate about his future.

Coleman considers winning Mr. Norristown to be an important achievement. “I could look back and show my family I won Mr. Norristown, and when I get older and have kids I can show them,” he said.

Outside of wanting to win Mr. Norristown, Coleman also has goals to travel a lot on top of going to college to get a degree so that he can make movies. Being one of the first competitors back after our Mr. Norristown hiatus, Coleman is proud that he can be a part of “setting the mood again, and next year more people will sign up because [Mr. Norristown is] fun.”

Coleman’s advice to underclassman is “Be you, have a plan, and do you.”
