Joseph Gomez
Joseph Gomez has been labeled the shy kid by those around him, but this Thursday, he is ready to change all that. With the upcoming Mr. Norristown event, Gomez is prepared to perform for the title. While he does not want to reveal much about his act, he is very excited to share it with the school and show everyone who he really is.
“I’ve never really done anything this outgoing, and I want to be very outgoing now,” said Gomez. “I heard someone call me shy and I just wasn’t comfortable with that. I want to be more than the shy kid.”
Gomez is inspired by his family, friends, and home where he has grown up. Norristown is important to him because of its diversity. He has learned so much from his community and the people around him. Gomez believes that the Norristown community is beautiful in its own way.
“Norristown made me who I am,” said Gomez.
Gomez is really excited about where his life takes him. As of now, he does not have a career choice set, so he is going to Montgomery County Community College undecided. This isn’t a bad thing for him. He has his whole life to figure out what he wants to do. He is willing to grow and learn as a person before deciding his whole future.
“It is hard for me to be asked what to do at such a young age,” said Gomez. “I have a lot of time to figure out my life.”
Gomez isn’t looking for fame from his peers in any way from the Mr. Norristown event. He really just wants to leave his mark on the school. He wants others to see that he isn’t just the quiet kid. He wants students and teachers to see a new side of him so much so that he is willing to get up and perform in front of others to show who he truly is.
“I’m quiet unless I don’t want to be. I am very prepared and want people to see more in me,” said Gomez.
