Sean O’Connor

Since he was around the age of 6 or 7, Sean O’Connor had been attending Mr. Norristown. “I’ve always wanted to do it [the contest] since I’ve seen other people do it in the past,” he said.

O’Connor was also driven to join because of his dedication to the community, as he does many hours of community service and has a hard work ethic.

O’Connor is always busy and never has any time for himself. “I spend a ridiculous amount of time doing stuff and I rarely have any free time,” said O’Connor, but now, by adding more on his plate by being a contestant from Mr. Norristown, the little free time he had is now overtaken by practice.

O’Connor plans on bringing his musical abilities and his humor to win over the crowd, just like his idol, the late Robin Williams.

If O’Connor went to a different school, he doesn’t think he would have participated in as many activities he’s in right now or met the people he’s met. “We have a lot of diversity in this school and it’s a good thing because you’re exposed to more,” said O’Connor.

Joining Mr. Norristown will “mean a lot to me if I win because I will be up there with the people who have won and are very talented and important to the school,” he said. “It would be an honor.” Even though he didn’t know any of the contestants personally before practices, he expressed his admiration towards them.

With graduation creeping up, O’Connor already has an idea of what he wants to do after high school. He wants to major in environmental studies since he likes to be outdoors. He wants people to know that he’s not as serious as he seems to be in the halls.

O’Connor wants the underclassmen to know that if they want to do Mr. Norristown, they should have a talent that brings them joy. Also if you want to make him laugh, show him a meme.
