Miguel Barcenas
Born and raised in Norristown, Miguel Barcenas takes his Mexican heritage very personally. “My parents came to this country not knowing the language,” he said reverentially. “They had to adapt to the language, something that they weren’t used to. I just see them as brave people for that.” Miguel holds these lessons from his parents sacred. One way Miguel shows his Latino pride is by joining UNIDAD, which he has been active in since he began at NAHS.
Miguel will be going to college to pursue a career either as a photographer, child psychologist,or a Spanish educator. Winning Mr. Norristown means a lot to him because he believes he will be representing his Latino community here in Norristown.
