Pollyanna, also known as “Secret Santa” is a Western Christmas tradition. In which groups, or community are randomly assigned a person they will give a gift to on Christmas. The identify of the gift giver is a secret not to be revealed. However, different enthincs groups have a different word for pollyana such as in Canada or the United Kingdom it is called Kris Kringel and a variety of other names.  Some people celebrate Pollyanna on different days. Poland celebrates the day on december 6 every year. We celebrate the day on December  25, every year. Moreover, we say Pollyana is the secret santa. Yet, around the world other countries call secret santa different things. In the UK they call it “Father Christmas” In Phillipines they call it the ‘Three kings.” How you play this secret santa game is you follow the steps. Either its a group your classmates, or coworkers, You usually set a budget up,  everyone writes their name on a piece of paper. They write about 4 things on their paper fold it up and put into the hat. You shake the hat up and let everyone picks a name out. To mention, when you are looking for the gift make sure you think of something positive no alochol, or things that can get you in trouble. Something you think your person will really like. Like clothes, jewelry, food.  Therefore, I think as Pollyana a good way to get along with family, or friends. It’s away you can learn someone better, and come closer with peers. It is a very good experience. And always rememeber to get your assigned person a gift so they won’t feel left out. Pollyana is about to coming together and having fun. If you don’t believe in Christmas, Pollyanna is a unique way to give presents, without putting them underneath a Christmas Tree. Always research your options, and have a wonderful Christmas/ Pollyanna.
